Bowel Cancer UK

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

Our training and education programmes equip healthcare professionals with the confidence to spread awareness messages and the knowledge and skills to support their professional practice. The team in Scotland deliver Bowel Health and Screening Training across the country and can tailor the training to suit a range of audiences.

Support Services

Age specific support

We campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. Our Never Too Young campaign is giving younger patients a voice and changing clinical practice and policy to stop people dying of bowel cancer under 50. We have published 'Younger people with bowel cancer: a guide for the under 50s'. This booklet provides an introduction to how a diagnosis of bowel cancer at a younger age can affect the body, emotions, relationships and everyday life. Information about programmes, screening and tests

We run training, workshops and study days for healthcare professionals. We also have a dedicated team of volunteers who give free awareness talks to workplaces and community groups across Scotland, spreading the word about symptoms, risk factors and bowel cancer screening.
