Exercise

Taking some form of exercise can be an important part of your recovery process. Remaining active can help reduce tiredness as well as anxiety and depression and improve your mood and your quality of life.

It can also make you feel more confident. Keeping active doesn’t mean intense activity; even trying to spend less time sitting, taking short walks or doing things around the house or garden can help.

There are several local groups with exercise programmes specifically for people with cancer. As part of a group you will have the support and encouragement of people who are going through a similar experience and will understand how you feel.
